KOCHI: Kerala takes a step toward shaping its aviation future with the Kerala Aviation Summit 2025, starting today at the Taj Cochin International Airport Hotel. The two-day event is jointly organised by Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
The summit aims to attract investment, promote innovation, and highlight Kerala’s vision to become a global aviation and logistics hub. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will be the chief guest at the inaugural session at 5.30 pm, with Industries Minister P Rajeeve presiding over the ceremony.
Over the two days, the summit will host eight panel discussions on key topics such as drone integration, urban air mobility, and the use of seaplanes and helicopters to improve regional connectivity. Experts will also discuss passenger services like biometric travel, AI-driven systems, and digital solutions, as well as cargo expansion, regional airport development, and renewable energy adoption.
The second day will focus on tourism–aviation linkages and innovations in air cargo logistics, concluding on Sunday at 12 pm.
The event coincides with the state government’s draft aviation policy, which outlines strategies for infrastructure development, regional connectivity, drone usage, and emerging air travel technologies. The summit will bring together policymakers, airline representatives, investors, and technology experts to plan Kerala’s aviation roadmap.
On Sunday, the chief minister will also inaugurate the new Airport Health Office building at CIAL, marking another milestone in the state’s aviation development.
