Kerala Horror: Father Throws Acid at Teenage Daughter, Niece in Kasaragod

Kasaragod: A shocking acid attack has left a 17-year-old girl and her 10-year-old cousin seriously injured in the Parakkadavu area of Panathady, Kasaragod, on Friday.

The accused, identified as K.C. Manoj, a resident of Karike, Karnataka, allegedly barged into a relative’s home where his teenage daughter was staying. Police said Manoj threw industrial acid, commonly used in rubber sheet production, at both the teenager and his brother’s daughter.

Victims in Hospital Care

The 17-year-old sustained severe burns on her arms and legs, while the 10-year-old girl suffered facial burns. Both victims were rushed to hospital and are under treatment. Doctors confirmed their injuries are serious but said their condition is stable.

Police Investigation

Rajapuram Police registered a case under attempted murder and house trespass. Preliminary findings suggest Manoj acted out of resentment linked to a long-standing domestic dispute with his estranged wife. Reports indicate alcohol abuse and repeated violent behavior had led to the couple’s separation.

Manhunt for the Accused

Police teams have intensified efforts to track down Manoj, who fled after the attack. Authorities described the crime as “brutal and deliberate”, vowing swift action.

Community Reaction

The incident has triggered widespread outrage across Kasaragod. Child rights activists and women’s groups have demanded stricter measures to curb acid attacks and ensure protection for vulnerable family members in domestic disputes.
