Nagpur: RSS Sarsanghchalak (chief) Mohan Bhagwat emphasized the transformative power of women’s freedom in a speech on Tuesday. He stated that if women are given the freedom they deserve, they can contribute significantly to societal growth.

1. Bhagwat spoke during the unveiling of a painting of the second Sarsanghchalak, Golwalkar Guruji, at Dharampeth Women’s Bank in Nagpur.

2. He highlighted that women and men have distinct roles, with women capable of achievements men may not, and vice versa. By providing women with freedom, society as a whole benefits.

3. Reflecting on traditional views, Bhagwat noted that agriculture was once considered a religious duty. However, he argued that true religion involves societal work and conduct rather than mere preaching.

4. Bhagwat praised the Dharampeth Women’s Bank, attributing its growth over three decades to the influence of ‘matrushakti’ (maternal power).

5. He recalled Dattopant Thengadi’s time as a student at Golwalkar Guruji’s residence, noting the focus on intellectual development rather than turning education into an industry.

6. The RSS chief emphasized that the RSS aims to foster an effective group and organize society, not for personal gain but for collective benefit.

7. Bhagwat also addressed the importance of adhering to rules within the RSS. Despite lacking statutory authority, the office of the Sarsanghchalak maintains its influence and respect.
