Thiruvananthapuram: Liquor sales in Kerala soared to ₹826.38 crore during this year’s Onam season, according to data from the Kerala State Beverages Corporation (KSBC).
Onam Liquor Sales Data
From August 25 to September 4, BEVCO outlets reported a 6.38% rise compared to last year. In 2024, the sales for the same period stood at ₹776.82 crore.
On Uthradam day (the day before Onam), BEVCO registered sales worth ₹137.64 crore, up from ₹126.01 crore last year — a 9.23% growth.
Top-Selling Outlets
- Karunagappally store (Kollam warehouse): ₹1.46 crore
- Kavanad Ashramam outlet (Kollam): ₹1.24 crore
- Kuttippala Edappal outlet (Malappuram): ₹1.11 crore
- Chalakudy outlet: ₹1.07 crore
- Kundara outlet: ₹1 crore
Currently, Kerala has 278 BEVCO outlets and 155 self-service stores. All outlets remained closed on Onam day (Friday).
Onam Sales Outlook
In 2024, total liquor sales during Onam reached ₹842.07 crore. KSBC officials expect this year’s sales to surpass that figure when the season ends on Saturday.
