Kerala HC Stays Arrest of Actress Lakshmi Menon in Kochi Kidnapping and Assault Case

Kochi: The Kerala High Court has granted temporary relief to Malayalam actress Lakshmi Menon, who faces charges as the third accused in the Kochi kidnapping and assault case. The court stayed her arrest and scheduled a detailed hearing on her anticipatory bail plea after the Onam holidays.

Case Details: Complaint Filed in Kochi

According to Manorama Online, the case began with an argument at a bar in Kochi. Lakshmi Menon and three friends allegedly clashed with another group. The dispute escalated when the accused reportedly followed the group after they left the venue.

As per the complaint by Aliyar Shah Saleem, a native of Aluva, the accused stopped his car around 11:45 pm. They allegedly dragged him out, assaulted him on the face and body, and threatened him with dire consequences after forcing him into their car.

Court Hearing After Onam

The High Court has decided to hear the anticipatory bail petition in detail after the Onam holidays. Until then, Lakshmi Menon remains protected from arrest.

Authorities continue investigating the case, while the court examines the allegations and evidence presented against the actress and her co-accused.
