50 persons believed to be BJP-RSS workers for heckling and intimidating social activist Swami Agnivesh.
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police on Thursday registered cases against 50 persons believed to be BJP-RSS workers for heckling and intimidating social activist Swami Agnivesh at a function at Poojapura on Wednesday.
The Poojapura police registered case of rioting against 50 persons following a complaint given by Agnivesh but no arrests have been made so far.
In a video message posted on social media, Agnivesh said he had come to attend the meet of traditional medicine practitioners at Poojapura on an invitation.
“I occupied the seat on the dais. As I got up to address the gathering, about 50 persons got up and started creating a ruckus. They even tried to manhandle me.
Though six-seven cops present at the spot they were taken aback by the sudden attack. I chose to leave the place to avoid any untoward incident on the 150th birth anniversary of Gandhiji which is also observed as international peace day,” he said.
